We have a new knife from CRKT that is geared to the professional, its part of their ER line. These are knives that are for Firefighters, Police, EMT & Military.
CRKT MAK-1 Multiple Access Knife, designed by Canadian knife maker and professional firefighter James McGowan. The CRKT MAK-1 features a 3.0" fixed blade made of 3Cr13 stainless steel, .20" thick. The blade of this CRKT knife has a notched thumb rest, blunt chisel pry bar tip. The MAK-1 has full tang construction with textured black G10 scales, window twist breaker groove, 8mm battery wrench, carbide breaker tip and reflective orange para cord lanyard. The CRKT MAK-1 has an overall length of 10.0" and weighs 10.0 ounces.
This knife was designed with the firefighter in mind, but this tool can do so much more. After over a month of carrying this knife with me everyday. I can say that this is the perfect tool to keep in your car as an emergency tool. This also could be a great addition to any survival kit. The MAK 1 is heavy enough to act as a hatchet, yet light enough to be comfortable if you are carrying it on your side while hiking. There has yet to be a time that i have run into that this cant handle. Lets look a few of the features: Thick .20” blade, this is great for a study knife that will not snap under pressure when prying a 2X4 loose. The Glass Break tool.. This speaks for itself, it give the first responder the chance to have exactly what they need on their side, giving them the extra moments that can save lives. Every way you look at it. The MAK 1 comes out on top.
I would recommend the CRKT MAK 1 for any person that wants a knife work work, hiking, or survival.
The MAK-1 has a retail price of $79.99. it comes with a belt loop sheath. I would recommend the Extrik-8-R seatbelt cutter tool. which is $29.99. For more information click on the link here.
