511 tactical makes all sorts of bags and packs to suit most anyone in the tactical/medical world, but one place they really didn't have a market was "covert looking" bags. I was looking for a bag that could carry my laptop as well as my weapons in a discrete way as not to bring attention to the fact of what i was doing much less carrying. 511 must have had a few requests for this cause they have not introduced the Rush Delivery Messenger Bag.
I first saw the Rush Delivery Messenger Bag at the Media Day during the most recent shot show (2011) they were demoing the carry possibilities. As a person who carries a laptop and usually an array of stuff as well, this bag seemed very interesting.
I carry a 15"" Macbook, it can house up to a large sized 17" laptop so size was no issue. i also carried a few external drives, a mini go kit, iPad, magazines, pistol, 3 mags, 2 knives, flashlight, extra batteries and a small med kit, just to name a few things, and this bag ate that up with no issues. after spending a month carrying this bag i have only found one issue with it… it makes you think your not carrying a lot of stuff, so you pack more stuff in, after a while you realize that your pack weight has doubled. To put it plain and simple this bag can carry tons of stuff, In fact it can be very useful not just as a laptop case, but a gear bag. I was able to pack 5 handguns with extra mag, hearing protection, paper work, and ammo, and you would not tell the bag was even stuffed with anything.
Rush Delivery Messenger Bag is made of 1050D nylon that is water resistant, so a walk though rain normally wont be an issue. Just as anything that is water "resistant" use common sense. As you can see from the pictures, the bag has over 20 pouches to store stuff. The pockets all have logical placement and reasonable size, even fully stuffed with things, it wont reflect the size of the bag. The bag is designed to work for either right of left hand use, and from what i have seen the guys here that are left handed love it, no issues with opening the pouches or zippers. The bag is covers with webbing so you can attach any compliant attachment, you can also attach another bag that 511 tactual makes called the Wingman patrol bag for even more added storage. the overall size if the bag is 11"H x 17"L and 5"D so its not a small bag, but by messenger bag standards its very comparable, it wont stand out in a crowd. This would make the perfect duty bag for almost any LEO.
Rush Delivery Messenger Bag has 511's Backup belt system. there is a zippered and velcro pouch int he back of the bag so you can have a weapon stored in there and easily be reaching in the bag with no one the wiser. Its a very light bag but extremely durable, i put this bag though my normal paces for over a month and it still looks like it came out of the box. The Rush Delivery Messenger Bag retails for $99.99 and comes in black and sandstone (pictured). You can check it out here: http://bit.ly/ljNRmg
