 This ammo was designed for Law Enforcement applications. Their website states this ammo produces 950 fps and delivers 461 ft lbs of energy. The physical appearance of this ammo looks like the have put a lot of thought into the all around design, Large cavity in the hollow point, Nickel plating on the casing to reduce reflections.
The sheetrock test showed that this ammo went though 8 layers and bounced off the 9th. The ammo was designed to produce higher penetration and greater stopping power. The only thing this ammo didn’t do on this test is expand, the ammo did not expand at all.
I tested this round in the water tank to see the what the maximum expansion would be. This test showed the ammo to have perfect expandability potential.
I did have a chance to test this ammo in the ballistic wax, this shows what the ballistcs gel results would be, the ammo penetrated 14 inches. And the expansion was excellent.
My opinion: this ammo is designed for Law Enforcement. The fact that it doesn’t expand in the sheetrock says that it may need a bit more refining. But overall it still didn’t penetrate more than 4 walls, in a tactical scenario you might need to go though a wall or a car door to stop the assailant. If you carry a duty weapon and are approved to carry this. Keep in mind that it was designed for you. I do carry this in my 45. I know its reliable, and has enough stopping power to stop any threat. I would say buy it.
